Low-residue (low-fibre) diet

A temporary low-fibre diet that rests an inflamed or narrowed gut.

A low-residue (low-fibre) diet uses soft, well-cooked, low-fibre foods that leave little undigested material — to ease symptoms during a gut flare or when the bowel is narrowed. It's a short-term tool: staying on it long-term starves beneficial gut bacteria.
